Goals:
Community members struggle to find local opportunities to discover emerging, local artists outside of their own social media. Oftentimes there are opportunities to see local artists however information is spread out through specific channels that don’t reach a large audience. By localizing information to an app it gives emerging artists better visibility and allows them to reach a larger audience while enhancing community experiences.
Survey Analysis:
An online survey from 13 respondents revealed:
Listeners value features such as playlist creation and recommendations, lyric accessibility and convenient search functions.
While most respondents have little interest in the artists and rely on social media to learn more about them.
Majority of the respondents claim to be willing to see artists they don’t know live with the exceptions of friends availability, affordability and liking and hearing them before.
Visibility seems to be a concurrent factor in the topic, many artists are not advertised outside of social media.
